IAI’s interdisciplinary staff members (computational linguists, computer scientists, linguists, mathematicians and translators) successfully bring together their skills to bridge the divide between computers and language and to actively transfer knowledge between research and applications.

For this purpose, our team applies methods and techniques of language and translation science, information science and information technology. Formal descriptions of morphology and grammar enable the capture of  syntactic and semantic structures of texts and constitute the building blocks and structural elements of a linguistic intelligence which is then generated in efficient algorithms for various applications.
